The Growth and Survival of The European lobster (Hommarus gammarus) Larvae in Pseudo-Green Water and Clear Water Under Low Density Conditions

The European lobster, Hommarus gammarus, is a commercially important species in Europe. Despite successful stock enhancement programs during the last two decades, culture methods of H. gammarus are still progress. In this study, effects pseudo-green water technique and clear with lower stocking densities on growth survival larvae stages I-IV were investigated. All reared 800 L cylindro-conical tanks density 1.25 larvae/L at temperature 17.1±1 oC salinity 32±1 ppt. Lobster fed enriched Artemia 3-5 naupli/ml for period 10 (09:30 am- 19:30 pm) hours. Daily additions concentrated algae increased turbidity reduced visibility compared to conditions. Results showed that lobster not significantly different among treatments planktonic (p>0.05). Overall mean rate was only 3% no significant differences between treatments. Increased did improve rates. Further studies required develop will promote higher rates pelagic larvae.
